St. Gregory School was
founded in 1916 by the teaching order of the Sisters of Notre Dame to address
the educational needs of new families in the area. Many of these families were
Irish immigrants who had settled here, working in the mills located near the
school. The school continues to serve families from the parish as well as from
other parts of Boston and surrounding communities. Many of the current students
are the sons and daughters of recent immigrants. Currently, the school has one
class in each grade from K1 to Grade 8.
